Note of Thanks: The ruckus over Los Angeles rapper Eric Wright’s attendance last month at an exclusive presidential fund-raiser apparently wasn’t enough to get him off the Republican Party mailing list. Wright, who is the leader of the group N.W.A. and goes professionally by the name Eazy-E, received a thank-you letter this week from Sen. Phil Gramm, chairman of the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle, expressing appreciation to the rebellious rapper for showing up. “On behalf of President Bush, my Republican colleagues in the Senate, and members of the Administration, thank you very much for joining us . . . ,” Gramm wrote. “Your presence helped make this special event a great success for all involved.”
