Staying Local: They considered leaving the state. They considered leaving Orange County.
But in the end, Krause’s Sofa Factory decided to leave Fountain Valley . . . and move to Brea. Its new corporate offices, manufacturing plant and headquarters give Krause’s twice the space of its old digs. The company, which makes custom-order couches, will now have the capacity to produce 2,000 sofas a week.
“We have a lot of faith in the economic future of Orange County,” said Ayse Kenmore, Krause’s senior vice president and a co-owner. “Unlike those companies locally that are cutting back, moving out of the area or going out of business, we feel very good about staying local and expanding our horizons here.”
