State Revokes License of Board-and-Care Home
The state Department of Social Services has revoked the license of the Sunnyville Guest Home, a board-and-care facility in Highland Park where the body of a 33-year-old resident was discovered Feb. 18, four days after she had been reported missing.
The home was shut down and its 19 residents relocated two days after the body of Teri Lee was found in an upstairs bedroom occupied by a 70-year-old, senile resident. The coroner’s office later determined that Lee died from chronic liver disease brought on by alcohol consumption.
Sunnyville owners Imelda, Edwin and Rosario Olivarez did not appeal the closure, said attorney Mark Ginsberg, who filed revocation proceedings for the department in Sacramento.
