Program’s Services

As co-chair, I was very glad that David Colker attended our conference on Child Abuse and Domestic Violence in the Jewish Community, held at the University of Judaism, and that he reported on it in the View Section of The Times.

Unfortunately, Mr. Colker did not include in his article information about our program, which is part of Jewish Family Service and specifically serves battered women, their children and batterers. It is crucial that Jewish women know that there is help available and that they are not alone.

The Family Violence Project provides counseling, advocacy and concrete services for battered women.

We also have a speaker’s bureau and teen violence prevention program that specifically addresses the denial in the Jewish community through education.
