Brian Brison, a former San Fernando High athlete who was suspended from athletics for one year by the City Section, has re-enrolled at San Fernando and will regain his eligibility April 30.

Brison, a junior football and track athlete, will regain his eligibility too late for track season but he will play for the football team next fall. He transferred back to San Fernando from Eldorado High in Las Vegas.

The City Section suspended Brison after he was arrested April 30 for punching Birmingham track Coach Scott King. Brison was suspended in May, and Los Angeles police referred his case to juvenile authorities, who placed him on six months’ probation.

Brison started his high school career at Westlake, transferred to Alemany midway through his freshman year and then moved to San Fernando halfway through his sophomore year. He lived with his father in Las Vegas and played in only two football games for Eldorado last fall because of a hand injury.

As a sophomore at Alemany, Brison had 238 yards rushing and 208 receiving. He posted times of 10.8 seconds in the 100 meters and 22.2 in the 200 last spring at San Fernando.
