West Los Angeles : Teen Pregnancy Forum

Los Angeles City Council members Ruth Galanter and Zev Yaroslavsky, state Sen. Herschel Rosenthal (D-Los Angeles) and Mark Slavkin, the Westside’s representative on the Los Angeles school board, will speak about teen-age pregnancy and infant care at a forum tonight.

Members of the public will be able to give ideas about how to meet the needs of young parents and their babies, such as opening infant-care centers on school campuses.

“Without care for their babies, these young girls are likely to drop out of school. That decision almost guarantees a life of poverty for that infant,” Slavkin said.
