Gangster Videos : THIS WEEK’S MOVIES
Maybe all those 1990 gangster films making their way to video this year still aren’t enough.
At least that’s what CBS/Fox Home Video seems to think. The company has accompanied its release of one of those ’90 crime pix, “Miller’s Crossing,” with no fewer than nine vintage mob movies.
“Miller’s Crossing” ($92.98, R) marks another stylistic triumph from directors Joel and Ethan Cohen (“Raising Arizona,” “Blood Simple”).
The nine oldies ($19.98 each) include:
“Gun Crazy” (1949) and “Pick Up on South Street” (1953), plus “Road House” (1948), “Johnny Apollo” (1940), “Street With No Name” (1948), “King of the Roaring ‘20s” (1961), “The Underworld Story” (1950), “The Gangster” (1947) and “Show Them No Mercy” (1948).
