Glendora : 2nd Stage of Drought Law
The City Council approved a three-stage drought ordinance Tuesday and ordered that the second stage of the plan be enacted.
The second stage incorporates the 10% voluntary cutback already in effect and prohibits using water to clean paved areas and buildings.
It also outlaws watering lawns and other ground covers between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., requires drought notices be placed in restaurants and hotels, and requires builders to obtain city permission to use water during construction. Also, people washing vehicles must use a bucket or a hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle.
Repeat violators of the second-stage requirements can be fined up to $1,000 a year and could have their water shut off.
