Donors Needed for Youth Hall of Fame
The city is requesting donations from local businesses and service organizations for the Kidsday Hall of Fame program scheduled May 11 at Apollo Park.
The Hall of Fame program, which will honor the outstanding achievements of Downey youths, attempts to encourage young people to pursue academic excellence, community service, athletic prowess and other notable accomplishments.
Donations will provide a special recognition ceremony for all nominees and inductees, as well as their parents and family members.
Contributions can be sent to city of Downey, Kidsday Hall of Fame, 11111 Brookshire Ave., Downey 90241. Donations of $25 or more will be acknowledged in the Hall of Fame ceremony and printed in the program.
