TUSTIN : Man Slain Outside Apartment Complex
A man was shot to death at an apartment complex Thursday morning by a drinking companion, police said.
The unidentified 20-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to his chest outside an apartment complex in the 15000 block of Pasadena Avenue just after 1 a.m., Police Lt. Houston Williams said.
The victim, whose name was not released because family members had not been identified, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he died shortly after arrival, Williams said.
The suspect, Claudio Jacobo Victorio 20, is believed to be a Mexican national who has only been in the United States a few weeks, Williams said.
“We suspect he is headed back toward Mexico, if (he is) not already in Mexico,” he said.
Witnesses told police the victim had been drinking with Victorio near the apartment complex carport earlier in the evening. Police have recovered a 9-millimeter gun that is believed to have been used in the killing, Williams said. The circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown, he said.
