Mary Nalick New Director of AIDS Center
Mary Nalick, former director of the City of Angels AIDS Hospice, began work April 1 as executive director of the nonprofit All Saints AIDS Service Center in Pasadena.
Nalick, 46, will oversee 17 staff members and a $1-million annual budget. The center, at 408 S. Pasadena Ave., serves 200 clients from Glendale to West Covina. It provides mental health counseling, aid for support groups and other assistance in coping with AIDS.
A lawyer with a master’s degree in social work from USC, Nalick replaces Albert Ogle, who left the position in December.
This weekend, the Armory Center for the Arts scheduled an exhibition of 30 artworks created by center clients. The occasion also recognized a $5,000 donation to the AIDS center from the Bravo cable television network. Bravo, a nationwide arts and entertainment network, raised $250,000 in December during its AIDS telethon, with $10,000 of the pledges from the San Gabriel Valley.
The center is at 145 N. Raymond Ave. The exhibition will be open from noon to 5 p.m. today. Admission is free.
