Crime Comes to Norwegian Island

OSLO, Norway — The Norwegian fishing village of Svolvaer has been shaken by its first stickup. A masked man with a gun escaped with $3,500 from the post office in the village of 5,000, said Ingrid Sollid of the local police.
“This is an island, so it is very difficult for someone to commit a serious crime and get away. I think that is why we haven’t seen things like this,” she said.
