Can We Talk?
These days, it’s not enough to be able to write a bestseller--you also have to be able to talk about it with Phil and Oprah and Sally and Geraldo. Not so coincidentally, Julia (“You’ll Never Eat Lunch in This Town Again”) Phillips and Kitty (“Nancy Reagan: The Unauthorized Biography”) Kelley have become clients of On Camera, a West L.A. firm specializing in “communications consulting.” Translation: making people look good on TV. Christine Brown of On Camera confirmed that both women have been clients, but declined to comment on any specific training Kelley or Phillips has received.
Left at the Gate
The May issue of Spy magazine went to press a few days too early. One column states that Deborah Norville’s maternity leave has ended and that she has returned to the “Today” show, while an article on the Los Angeles Police Department entitled “The Gazpacho Gestapo” notes that Tom Bradley hasn’t asked Daryl Gates to resign.
