Reported Aid to Chrysler Denied: A spokesman for struggling Chrysler Corp. dismissed as “rumor and speculation” a report that Mitsubishi Motors Corp. will assume $220 million in expenses at their joint U.S. assembly plant. Japanese newspapers reported that the auto makers were close to finalizing a deal that would give Mitsubishi a larger stake in Diamond Star Motors Corp., their Normal, Ill., auto-making factory.
