Man Fixing Car Is Crushed to Death
A Reseda man was crushed to death when the car that he was repairing fell on top of him, police said Sunday.
Porfiro Escobar, 27, died between 2 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday, when he was found beneath a car in the alley of the 18300 block of Etiwanda Avenue, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Neal Fine said. Escobar apparently was working under the car, which was raised off the ground.
Fine said reports indicated that Escobar may have been dead for as long as 17 hours before he was found. He said it was not known what caused the car to fall or why Escobar was not found earlier.
