UP FOR A VOTE? Allergan, the Irvine eye- and skin-care products company, could run into a storm at its annual meeting here April 23 because it has 35 salespeople in South Africa. . . . A state of New York retirement fund wants the company to leave the country where the white minority government discriminates against blacks. Similar attempts have been made at other firms’ annual meetings in recent years, but Allergan says it wants to stay in South Africa and work to improve conditions for blacks.
