Not Everyone Hates, or Loves, the Critic
Perhaps Bernheimer will suggest that a cadenza played by another violinist 15 years ago had greater clarity. What is he telling us? That he was there? That his ear has a memory? Who cares? The Los Angeles music community deserves better.
I do not recall who said it, but the quotation is apt: “No one ever raised their child to be a critic.”
