Paint Spilled in Crash Closes Freeway Lanes
Paint that spilled from an overturned pickup truck caused the closure of three lanes of the Hollywood Freeway Monday in Studio City, the California Highway Patrol said.
No one was injured in the 11 a.m. crash on the southbound side of the freeway south of Moorpark Street, Officer Jayne Suits said. But traffic was backed up to the San Diego Freeway during the hourlong closure, Suits said.
Suits said a Corvette driven by Melissa Forwerck, 23, of North Hollywood was cut off by another vehicle, causing the Corvette to strike the pickup, driven by Isac Barocas, 41, of Northridge. The pickup struck the center divider and overturned, dumping its load of white paint into the fast lane, Suits said.
The driver of the vehicle that allegedly cut off Forwerck’s car did not stop and was being sought by the Highway Patrol on suspicion of causing a hit-and-run crash, Suits said.
