Man Killed in Fight Outside Liquor Store
A Glendale man was fatally shot during a fight with gang members outside a Glassell Park liquor store, Los Angeles police said.
Enrique Alvarado, 21, was shot once in the chest during an altercation with three gang members around 1:30 a.m. Saturday outside a liquor store at Eagle Rock Boulevard and Avenue 40.
Detective Ron Whitt said Alvarado was punched in the face as he and a friend were walking into the store and the others were leaving. The friend told police that Alvarado fought with one of the men until Alvarado was shot.
Whitt said the friend called paramedics and Alvarado was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he died an hour later. Police had no suspects in the shooting.
