Patrick F. Stine; Lighting Director, Prop Man
Patrick F. Stine, who worked as a lighting director at CBS Television City, has died at his Canoga Park home. He was 72.
Stine died Sunday of a heart attack, said his wife, Mary Alice Stine.
Born in Elwood, Ind., Stine served in the U.S. Marine Air Corps during World War II and came to California in 1944. He started as a stage technician at CBS in Los Angeles in 1956 and later became a lighting director. Stine left CBS in 1979 and later worked as the head prop man at the Hollywood Palladium until his retirement in 1984.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years; sons John F. Stine and William D. Stine, both of Canoga Park, Patrick C. Stine of Chatsworth and Joseph A. Stine of Thousand Oaks; daughters Jean T. Stine, Virginia Rudge and Hilary A. Nickerson, all of Simi Valley, Mary A. Stine of Canoga Park and Mary C. Kirkpatrick of Santa Barbara, and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral mass is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday at the chapel at San Fernando Mission Rey Chapel, 11160 Stranwood Ave. in Mission Hills.
Burial will follow at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery. Pierce Brothers-Praiswater Mortuary in Canoga Park is handling the arrangements.
