West Hollywood : Model Neighborhood Plan
A new Model Neighborhood Program to clean up east Hollywood has been launched, with the help of a $25,000 donation from the Kaiser Permanente medical group, city officials said this week.
The program was unveiled Monday at a news conference at the graffiti-splattered corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Alexandria Avenue in east Hollywood.
Los Angeles City Councilman Michael Woo, who represents Hollywood, joined officials from the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and from the city’s Cultural Affairs Department to kick off the public-private partnership.
The program is designed to fight crime through the establishment of Crime Watch groups, better coordination of tree-trimming and other city services, removal of abandoned cars and eradication of graffiti with ongoing paint-outs, Woo said.
