Report Says Knicks Will Fire MacLeod
Associated Press
NEW YORK — John MacLeod will be out as New York Knick coach when the NBA team plays its last playoff game, New York Newsday reported Thursday.
The newspaper, quoting two unnamed Knick sources, said MacLeod will not be offered a new contract.
MacLeod took over as coach on Dec. 3, replacing Stu Jackson, who was fired. The Knicks have a 31-34 record with MacLeod as coach, and are 38-42 overall.
Dave Checketts, the team’s president, denied he had decided to fire MacLeod.
