Helping Shoemaker Was Thing to Do
Regarding Terry Fisher, the person who stopped and rendered first-aid to Bill Shoemaker on the night of his accident, I thought the remark by Capt. Philip Hatch of the L.A. County Fire Dept. (April 12) was, to say the least, inappropriate. In regards to the kind of emergency treatment rendered by Mr. Fisher, Capt. Hatch said, “I don’t know if the guy did the right thing.”
In this day of most people not wanting to get involved, Terry Fisher did the right thing just stopping and doing whatever he could for “the Shoe.” Hats off to one fine humanitarian.
