SCALPING

I am not sure which of Claire Rothman’s observations I find most offensive: her disdain for “casual” fans unable to shell out $8,000-plus per year for Senate Seats, the hypocritical distinction she draws between the wealthy brokers who help support her business (and whom she all but canonizes) and the working-class scalpers whom she smugly dismisses as “parasites,” or her self-serving and otherwise contradicted conclusion that “the Forum does everything it knows how to do to make an equitable distribution of tickets.”

By her condescending and imperious remarks, Rothman accomplishes what I once believed to be impossible: She makes me happy to be a Clipper season-ticket holder.
