Woman Dies After Being Hit by Car on Studio City Street
An unidentified woman died Sunday after a motorist drove through a red light and struck her as she crossed a street in Studio City, Los Angeles police said.
The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. as the woman was walking near Moorpark Street and Whitsett Avenue, Sgt. Al Zardeneta said.
A car traveling south on Whitsett hit her as she walked west across the avenue in a marked crosswalk.
The woman was taken to Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, where she died of her injuries.
The driver of the car was being questioned, but it was not known if he would be arrested, Zardeneta said.
