Low Turnout for Election

The litany of protest against bond issues that put a burden on “the backs of the already overtaxed property owner” is ridiculous. I would much rather pay high property taxes than high income taxes. The crumbling infrastructure is local, crowded schools are local, fire and police forces are local, public transportation is local, libraries are local, etc.

We need money for our communities. It would be logical to have the majority of our taxes meet local needs first and then spend the next largest amount for state needs. The federal government could then apply for city and state grants to meet its budget.
