SIMI VALLEY : 2 Disposal Sites to Help Spring Cleanup
The Simi Valley Neighborhood Councils are encouraging residents to participate today in their annual Spring Cleanup Campaign.
Residents are being asked to clean their homes, yards and garages of unwanted materials and to bring the refuse to disposal sites set up in the parking lots at Royal and Simi Valley high schools.
Trash will be collected at the two sites from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., said Terisa Makarehchi, Neighborhood Councils coordinator.
No hazardous waste items, such as paints, insecticides, used motor oil or batteries, will be accepted, Makarehchi said.
American--Simi and Anderson Rubbish companies will provide dumpsters, and Waste Management Inc., operator of the Simi Valley Landfill, will dispose of the trash at no charge.
Commercial and industrial users are prohibited from using the free disposal sites.
