Bandit Changes Mind, Makes Withdrawal
A man who first went to Pacific Beach bank asking information about opening an account returned half an hour later Friday to stage a $860 holdup, San Diego police said.
The bandit left the Security Pacific Bank at 875 Garnet Ave. with some informational brochures.
About half an hour later he returned and handed a teller the brochures, along with a note saying he had a gun. The note demanded he be given all the large bills, according to police spokesman Bill Robinson.
The robber was described as white, 27 to 30 years old, 6-foot to 6-foot-3, and weighed about 175 pounds. He had a thin build, collar-length brown hair, a mustache and pale skin.
