Esperanza Shows No Mercy to Loara

Esperanza continued to dominate Loara pitching Friday, scoring 13 runs in the first inning of a 27-3 Empire League victory at Esperanza. Wednesday, the Aztecs had defeated Loara, 15-1.

Friday’s victory moved Esperanza (19-2, 9-2) into a first-place tie with El Dorado and Katella. El Dorado lost to Los Alamitos, 16-8, and Katella defeated Cypress, 3-0, on Friday.

Rich Hills hit a three-run home run in the first inning, Erikson Dumaul had three hits and scored twice and Jason Hodges had four hits and five runs batted in.
