BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : DODGERS : Morgan Meets Friend for Tee
Mike Morgan was preparing to tee off at a local course Saturday when a golf cart containing an old friend pulled up behind him.
“Somebody was shouting, ‘M and M, M and M!’ ” Morgan said, referring to his nickname. “I looked up, and there was Fernando Valenzuela.”
Valenzuela, who just happened to be playing in a foursome behind Morgan, visited briefly.
“He looked really good, like he was in better shape than when he left the team in spring training,” said Morgan, who is the first Dodger to see Valenzuela since the left-hander was released. “He told me he is working out every day and staying ready.”
