Study on New Off-Road Vehicle Park Site OKd
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to look at an alternative site for an off-road vehicle park that had been proposed east of Santa Clarita.
The alternative 700-acre site in Hume Canyon is north of Santa Clarita, near Sierra Highway. The original site was Whitney Canyon, near the interchange of the Golden State and Antelope Valley freeways. Supervisors approved a study of the alternative location at the urging of Supervisor Mike Antonovich.
In a related action Tuesday, the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee recommended approval of legislation to finance the $175,000 study.
