Mayor Bradley and L.A. Crime
As former and currently active paramedics working in and around Los Angeles, we feel that the blatantly false statements made by the mayor cannot go unanswered. To say that gang violence will not be a problem to tourists is a lie. To say that it is limited to only black and Latino neighborhoods is a lie.
Los Angeles is not a safe city. Criminal violence is not isolated to just the black and Latino areas. Any citizen or visitor can easily become a target.
We must apologize for allowing the mayor of what once was a great city for trying to mislead the citizens of Japan. As the top elected official of Los Angeles he has failed in his responsibility to ensure domestic tranquility for the citizens he represents. Until he makes an honest effort to bring the unrestrained violence, drug trafficking and political moral corruption to an end, we feel that the lives of others should not be jeopardized in order to increase tourism.
