Roberts Seeks ‘Big Win’ in District 2 Race
City Councilman Ron Roberts announced Saturday that he will run for reelection in his newly redistricted 2nd District, which now includes the coveted downtown San Diego area.
Roberts, 49, addressed more than 50 supporters and volunteer workers at the opening of his campaign headquarters, stressing that he wanted to “win big” in the Sept. 17 primary election.
The councilman is an architect and former city planning commissioner who resigned that post in 1987 to run for the City Council seat.
His district includes Point Loma, La Playa, Roseville, Loma Portal, Midway, Old Town, downtown San Diego, Mission Hills, Middletown, Mission Bay, Mission Beach, Crown Point, the western part of Pacific Beach, Nestor and a small part of Hillcrest.
