Planning Commissioner Named
The Lawndale City Council filled one of two vacancies on the Planning Commission Thursday by approving the appointment of Rick Achatz to a term that will end April 30, 1992.
Achatz, an engineer at TRW, was selected by Councilman William Johnson to fill the vacancy created by Melissa Bergstrom’s resignation in February. Achatz is a 13-year resident of Lawndale.
The remaining vacancy on the Planning Commission, created by Douglas Schoonover’s resignation last month, will be filled by an appointee of Mayor Harold E. Hofmann, who said he will announce his choice at the May 23 council session.
Three people filed applications for the post before the May 1 deadline, but Hofmann isn’t restricted to selecting one of these candidates.
