More on Madonna

We as a society have always revered show business icons who are able to expose our secrets and thus diffuse our shame.

We’re only as sick as our secrets, and Madonna (“It’s Not Easy Being Notorious,” May 5) has certainly offered a catharsis in this respect. Her incredible success is a reflection of our desire to heal ourselves.
