LOCAL HEROES: Pop starlet (and Dorsey High grad) Jody Watley has a new album due this August from MCA Records. Called “Affairs of the Heart,” it features several songs she co-produced, including “Stolen Moments” (with Andre Cymone), “I Can’t Stand the Pressure” and self-produced a song called “Begins With You.” On producing, Watley says: “When you’re the producer, you can’t go home if you’re tired. You’re running the show. And you’re the bad guy too. Sometimes I want to punch myself out.” . . . L.A. favorite sons, Fishbone (grads of El Camino Real High) are playing a pair of dates at the Roxy, June 9 and 10. But the band is also doing a special budget-priced show June 7 at Crenshaw High, the band’s old neighborhood school. After covering its production costs, the band will donate the rest of the proceeds to the school, which has been hard hit by statewide education cutbacks. . . . And to celebrate Amnesty International’s 30th anniversary, Highland Grounds in Hollywood will host a benefit show Thursday featuring such musical guests as the Cole Porters, Carla Olson, the Ringling Sisters, Chuck E. Weiss, the Young Dubliners and Sandra Bacall & the Naked Angels.
