A Camarillo couple who admitted telling two children to strip and play sex games with them were sentenced to prison Monday for child molestation.

Ventura County Superior Court Judge Frederick A. Jones sentenced Bobby Lee Pawlowski, 28, to 10 years in prison on four counts of child molestation. His wife, Paula Pawlowski, 33, was sentenced to eight years on three counts. Both had pleaded guilty April 19.

“It appears that this couple enjoyed teaching children about sex and then watching, being voyeurs as the children performed sex acts,” Deputy Dist. Atty. Kathleen M. O’Brien said.

The incident that led to the charges occurred Feb. 2 and involved a boy and a girl, ages 11 and 12, according to a probation investigator’s report.

In an interview with the probation investigator, Paula Pawlowski said she consented to the sex games only because she felt that she was not pleasing her husband. She said she was hoping for probation because she is “liable to go crazy” in prison.

In a separate interview with the investigator, Bobby Pawlowski admitted that he feels attracted to female adolescents. He also acknowledged that the incident had probably affected the children psychologically.

Both of the children have begun psychotherapy, according to the report.

In a letter to the judge, the girl’s parents denounced the Pawlowskis as “monsters and predators.”

“They didn’t kill her or sell her, as you read about in the papers all the time,” the letter said. “But they did forever change her, and who can tell how much?”
