Bush Selects Nominee for Army’s No. 2 Job

WASHINGTON — President Bush has selected Lt. Gen. Dennis J. Reimer to be vice chief of staff of the Army, the second-highest uniformed position, the Pentagon announced Tuesday. Reimer, 51, whose assignment is subject to Senate approval, also was chosen for promotion to the rank of four-star general.
