McDonald’s Is Robbed at Closing
A gunman held up a McDonald’s restaurant in Ventura, police said Wednesday.
Seven employees and three customers were in the restaurant on Harbor Boulevard about 11 p.m. Tuesday just before closing time when a man walked in, displayed a gun and jumped over the service counter, police said.
Two employees fled with customers from the restaurant, police said.
The man ordered employees to give him money and asked about the safe. Employees said they did not have access to the safe but opened a cash register drawer, Ventura Police Detective Ray Vance said.
The robber then grabbed an undetermined amount of money and ran out a side door where witnesses lost sight of him, police said.
