Slip on your walking shoes for this one and don’t forget the sunglasses.

Get your exercise and a healthy dose of art appreciation during this weekend’s ARTWALK ‘91, to be held on the attractively landscaped grounds of the Exxon Co. in Thousand Oaks.

The fourth annual fine arts festival will feature the works of about 140 artists and craftspeople.

“We have seven different categories of art for people to enjoy,” event coordinator Sharon Auge said.

Bask under the sun, stroll the grassy, expansive grounds of Exxon and enjoy paintings, photography, sculpture, various handmade arts and crafts and mixed media--all for sale, of course.

And this is not just any art.

More than 300 artisans nationwide applied to take part, Auge said. “The fact that this is a juried event, the quality is increased considerably. Not just anybody can enter.”

Exxon Co. is at 225 W. Hillcrest Drive. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. For more information, call 373-0054.
