Mike Milbury, who led the Boston Bruins to two consecutive 100-point seasons, resigned as coach and became the team’s assistant general manager.

Milbury coached the Bruins for two years, leading them to the Stanley Cup final in his first season. The Bruins lost to the Edmonton Oilers in five games. Last season, the Bruins lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Wales Conference final.
