Bruce Willis, Unions and the Rising Cost of Filmmaking
Regarding the defensive stance assumed by Bruce Willis in your combative interview with him and his partner in crime, producer Joel Silver (“Bruce and Joel’s Q & A Adventure,” May 19):
Why are these entertainers subjected to such media scrutiny? Is it a crime to go over budget? Should people be locked up for only entertaining mass audiences instead of the elite critic?
When the original “Die Hard” came out, most critics panned it. Ironically, when the second one came out, those same critics compared it unfavorably to the now-”classic” original.
It would be a pity to see the press one day drive out one of Hollywood’s most interesting and unique talents, Bruce Willis.
