Capistrano Valley Students Offer Theories on Evolution-Creation Flap
After reading (Capistrano Valley High School teacher) John Peloza’s Commentary (“Debate on Life’s Origin Is Really on Philosophies,” May 21) in defense of his beliefs, I have come to the conclusion that he is acting as if he is younger than the students he teaches.
“Why should I be forced to do this, why should I be forced to do that?” Please don’t whine like a child; just do the job like you are supposed to. If you don’t believe in what you are directed to teach, then leave this school district alone and go bother another.
It upset me greatly to hear of your student support group, Christian Cougars. This group is hurting many of us at Capo Valley. These questions enter our minds: “If I am not a member of this group, am I a non-Christian? Am I a nonbeliever?” I am a Christian, and I always will be, but I am definitely not going to fall into this brainwashing group of fundamentalists. Shape up or ship out, Peloza.
