Cold on Hot Property

The ‘80s are over, aren’t they? We are evolving into a society marked by an enhanced concern for the environment and a renewed commitment to the values of thrift and prudence, aren’t we? Yet the Real Estate section persists in dragging us back to the days of greed and excess in its weekly feature, “Hot Property.”

Why devote space to the excessive housing requirements of this or that actor when, confronted with a worsening economy, thousands of Angelenos are either hanging on to their homes by their fingernails or have lost their grip entirely.

Let’s change “Hot Property” to “No Property” and detail the circumstances which forced homeowners out of their houses and onto the street or has made homeownership impossible for a growing segment of the American people.
