Trustees of the Orange Unified School District will hold a special forum tonight to discuss relocation of the district offices and plans to boost enrollment at Chapman Hills Elementary School.

After conducting a demographic study of Orange Unified, district officials have recommended the site of closed Katella Elementary School for relocation of district administrative offices. Katella was closed several years ago when enrollment declined.

Orange Unified officials are also trying to determine the best use for newly built Chapman Hills Elementary in Santiago Hills.

Chapman Hills’ classes began in portable classrooms last fall. The new facility, scheduled to open its doors in September, has room for about 600 students, but thus far has enrolled only 227. Tonight’s meeting will review enrollment projections for the new school and plans for the most cost-effective use of the facility.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in Room 52 of Katella Elementary, 1401 N. Handy St.
