Bid for Vista Chemical Is Extended: A German company’s oft-delayed bid to buy Vista Chemical Co. of Houston for $590 million has been extended again to try to resolve antitrust objections raised by federal regulators. RWE-DEA’s $55-a-share cash tender offer, which was to have expired last Friday, has been extended to this Friday. RWE-DEA and Vista are among a handful of companies that make a highly purified form of alumina, and Vista customers had expressed concern about what lack of competition would do to alumina prices.
