Alexander’s Remarks
My face is not black, but within my soul there is a trace of that color. I understand Clifford Alexander’s frustration (“Whites Only Let Blacks Nibble at Edges of Power,” Commentary, May 23). America is not the democracy that it says it is. America is a racially bigoted society.
Who are the “decision-makers” that can make a difference? Do people in high places care? I don’t believe that they do. If they did, commentary like Alexander’s would not have been written.
