THOUSAND OAKS : Reward Offered in Bicycle Thefts
Thefts in Thousand Oaks of a number of mountain bikes have prompted the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department to offer a reward for help in solving the crimes.
Eight bicycles valued up to $2,500 have been stolen from porches and garages since January, sheriff’s officials said.
Investigators said they believe that the bicyclists might have been followed and their addresses noted, allowing the thieves to steal the bikes as soon as the cyclist went inside.
The Sheriff’s Department’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of suspects.
Callers may remain anonymous. The number is 656-1500, Ext. 8255.
