Arson investigators Monday continued to search for clues to the origin of a weekend fire that caused an estimated $1.5 million in damage to a Glendale office building.

Firefighters found the second floor of the K-Comp building engulfed in flames when they arrived shortly after 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Battalion Chief Chris Gray said. More than four dozen firefighters were called to battle the blaze at 4860 San Fernando Road.

The fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes, Gray said. No one was injured, although four firefighters suffered exhaustion.

Damage to the second floor was heavy, with the first floor submerged under two inches of water, Gray said. Estimates put the damage at $500,000 to the building and $1 million to its contents.
