J.R. Ewing, the bad boy of the Texas Oil Patch, offered to help Kuwait snuff out hundreds of burning oil wells during a meeting with the emirate’s oil minister. “It’s an immense job,” said actor Larry Hagman, who played the scheming millionaire oil baron for 13 years on the television soap opera “Dallas” before it was canceled this year. Hagman, 59, was in Vienna with stage wife Linda Gray to star in the play “Love Letters” at the same time OPEC ministers were setting production levels for the next three months. “If you need any advice, don’t hesitate to call,” Hagman told Kuwaiti Oil Minister Hamoud Abdulla al-Raqba. Hagman promised to return when OPEC meets again in November. “I’ll be more prepared then,” he said.
